Robert Half is currently working with a thriving, services firm on their search for a Staff Accountant with proven tax compliance expertise. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the general ledger, assisting with the month-end close process, preparing internal/external financial reporting, posting journal entries, supporting revenue recognition processes, preparing supporting schedules for internal management reporting and external audits, ensuring compliance with industry specific taxes and applicable fees, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable functions. The ideal candidate for this role should have great problem-solving skills, excellent time management and strong budgeting/forecasting abilities that will ensure revenue generation.

Everyday Responsibilities

· Support daily accounting functions

· Prepare and post journal entries in the general ledger

· Assist with the month end/year end process

· Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

· Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

· Support accounts payable and receivable processes

· Help prepare internal financial reports and documentation for audits

· Perform audits by implementing industry-specific procedures and evaluating organizational risks

· Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes

· Ad hoc financial analysis projects as requested

Requirements

The ideal Staff Accountant MUST have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

Other requirements for the Staff Accountant role include and are not limited to:

· 2+ years of accounting experience

· CPA preferred

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

· Solid knowledge of GAAP

· Working knowledge of ERP systems

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
