Sylvan Learning provides academic tutoring for students from elementary through 12th grade so that students can get ahead or get caught up. Our company mission is to inspire and see success with every child. The Part-Time Academic Coach plays a crucial role in delivering educational content to the students to ensure mastery of skill while at the same time building confidence boosting rapport with the student. Know how to control and manage your own time-Ferris Bueller should not be your role model. Like people-seriously, do we need to say more? Find kids fun-again, do we need to say more? Minimal need: high school diploma, some college, college degree or educator degree a definite plus! This job is great for: Substitute Teachers / Homeschool Teachers Daycare workers Empty-nesters/retirees College students learning the ropes of education, administrative, customer service Stay-at-home Moms who left the professional world and want to re-enter on a part-time basis Previous teachers Anyone wanting to keep themselves busy while having fun Typical Hours: Monday-Thursday afternoons, as early as 3:00 and as late as 7:00 pm Some Saturdays as early as 10am to 2pm * Occasional events, varying from an all-day to just morning, afternoon, or evening Benefits: - NO LESSON PLANNING! - NO PARENTS OR PAPERWORK TO DEAL WITH - Teach as few as two or as many as ten hours per week-it is up to you, since you set your availability, as long as its sometime between 3pm and 7pm Monday through Thursday with morning times available in the summer and/or Saturday mornings from 10am-2pm - Training provided - Hourly rate starting between $11.5-$12.5 (based on experience) with $0.25 increases for each curriculum added beyond basic reading and elementary math - Immediate family receives 30% off tutoring at this Sylvan - Making a difference in many children's lives - An absolute FUN place to be!
