Overview

BigBear.ai is seeking a Accounting Shared Services Supervisor that will oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions within the Accounting Department. This individual will lead a team responsible for processing, accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of AR and AP activities. The Supervisor will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, implement process improvements, and ensure strong internal controls. This position is remote.

What you will do

Lead, mentor, and develop the AR and AP teams, ensuring high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.

Manage day-to-day operations of AR and AP, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and reconciliations.

Establish and monitor performance metrics for AR and AP functions.

Implement and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures in compliance with company standards.

Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within shared services.

Support month-end and year-end close processes as they relate to AR/AP.

Collaborate with Procurement, Treasury, and other business units to streamline processes and resolve issues.

Assist in audits by preparing documentation and supporting schedules related to AR/AP.

Provide reporting and analysis to the Senior Accounting Manager and Controller to support decision-making.

What you need to have

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting operations, with a focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

Hands-on experience in AR and billing within a government contracting environment

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets effectively

In-depth understanding of AR and AP processes, systems, and industry best practices..

Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven track record of team management, performance oversight, and employee development

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
