THE POSITION
Do you have extensive unemployment compensation knowledge and experience? If so, the Department of Labor & Industry is eager to welcome you as an Unemployment Compensation Operations Manager 2. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of both employer and claimant services. The duties of the position involve planning, organizing, and managing all unemployment compensation operations and activities for both sections. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Operations Manager 2, your work involves, in part, the maintenance of accurate wage information for employees of Pennsylvania covered employers. This includes the gathering and maintenance of wages earned by federal government and military employees as well as the wages of employees working in other states for the purpose of determining the financial eligibility of those persons applying for UC benefits in Pennsylvania. Work also includes the payment of accurate weekly benefits to claimants and the collection and deposit of overpayment monies in the state treasury. You will have the opportunity to analyze operational procedures, make recommendations for improvement and provide technical assistance to staff by interpreting UC policies and procedures. This professional performs a range of supervisory duties including analyzing work trends, recommending staffing and conducting interviews for vacant positions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Works hours may vary based on operational needs.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after the successful completion of the required probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Unemployment Compensation Operations Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Three years of experience in varied office management, supervisory or technical work which involved operations requiring a working knowledge acquired through continuous application of the provisions of the Unemployment Compensation Law; and a bachelor's degree; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
