Description of Work

This position will serve as the Administrative Associate II in the Division 3 Traffic unit. This employee will assist the Administrative Specialists I in performing a variety of clerical duties such as typing, filing, and answering phones, in addition to other duties assigned. This position must be able to operate office equipment such as a computer, printer, and scanner. Work will involve payroll entry and processing bills via the SAP computer system. This position will compose and @type correspondence, process incoming mail, and prepare outgoing mail. The applicant must be able to work independently, report to work on time, and be a team player.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Management prefers applicants with the following:
Customer service experience, including resolving customer issues
Experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Access, Word, and Excel
Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports
Experience with letter writing, using correct spelling, punctuation, and proofreading
Experience in record keeping
Additional Expectations:
Should be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task. Should have the ability to read, write, and act upon both verbal and written instructions. Employee will need to have written and verbal communication skills for daily contact with the public and other various customers. Be capable of answering a multi-line phone and maintaining and organizing records. Should have the ability to use proper grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and office terminology to compose and proofread all correspondence. This position may be required to work after hours during an emergency, such as a hurricane or snow/ice event. The selected Applicant will be expected to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle. Applicants with SAP R/3, CARS, and TIMS experience will be given preference.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
