Project Accounting Manager - Contract to Hire

Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Accounting Manager to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this Contract-to-Hire role, you will oversee critical accounting and finance functions, with an emphasis on project-based job costing, compliance with revenue recognition standards, and multi-state tax reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise and contribute to the financial success of diverse projects.

Responsibilities:

Lead the job costing and project reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely data collection and analysis.

Support project estimators to facilitate seamless budgeting, billing, and financial reporting.

Administer expense reporting software, train team members, and ensure compliance with company policies.

Consolidate job cost data into detailed reports and provide variance analysis against budgets.

Monitor and ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.

Prepare and file sales tax returns, while serving as the subject matter expert on multi-state tax compliance.

Oversee lease accounting in adherence to ASC 842 guidelines.

Manage critical aspects of the month-end and year-end financial close processes.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support financial planning.

Research accounting standards, implement improvements, and ensure ongoing compliance with controls and policies.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on project accounting.

Proficiency in ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting.

Strong understanding of job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.

Experience with multi-state sales and use tax compliance.

Familiarity with data center infrastructure and project accounting practices.

Ability to lead month-end close and financial reporting processes.

Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities across teams.
