THE POSITION

Our utility plant provides residents, staff, and visitors with safe and efficient heat and hot water. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Utility Plant Operator 2, you will operate and maintain steam generating boilers and related equipment in our high-pressure boiler plant. You will provide provide safe efficient heat and hot water for the hospital by starting up and shutting down boilers, o pening and closing valves, recording operational information, and reading gauges, thermometers, graphs. You will also take water samples, perform titration analysis, and c lean, repair, and replace boiler sight glass and assemblies. This role requires the ability to d iagnose and make emergency repairs to all operating equipment in order to maintain operations. In addition, you will complete scheduled preventive maintenance, perform daily blowdowns on boilers and related equipment, and ensure compliance with hospital safety requirements, procedures, policies, and guidelines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. You will work a rotating schedule and every other weekend.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 ( Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
One year of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.
