Responsibilities
The Lead Clinical Informaticist serves as a crucial link between clinical practice and information technology, with a focus on optimizing healthcare delivery through effective use of clinical data and systems. This role involves leading initiatives to improve patient care, enhance clinical workflows, and ensure the integrity and accessibility of clinical information. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of clinical operations, data management, and the ability to translate clinical needs into actionable IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify opportunities that enhance clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
Ensure the seamless integration of technologies into existing clinical workflows, addressing both technical and user experience challenges.
Monitor solutions post-implementation, ensuring they meet clinical and operational objectives.
Translate clinical needs into technical specificationsEnsure the tools and technology does not negatively impact clinical workflow, maps to the correct fields for accurate results
Lead and manage small/medium IT healthcare projects within clinical environments.
Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including clinicians, IT specialists, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
Communicate project progress and issues to key stakeholders, including senior management, clinical staff, and IT teams.
Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams and healthcare professionals.
Skills:
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Expertise in AI technologies, machine learning, and their application in healthcare.
Strong clinical workflow experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for healthcare professionals.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
Requirements
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
Proven experience in implementing AI and additional technology solutions in a clinical environment or healthcare setting.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)
Greater than 2 years experience in clinical informatics
Greater than 2 years experience with Oracle/Cerner and Epic
Greater than 2 years clinical bedside experience
Experience with implementing AI technology for cliniciansCerner/Epic experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
Passion for improving healthcare delivery through innovative solutions.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a focus on team collaboration and development.
