Description
The Manager of Quality and Regulatory Operations is responsible for coordinating and managing the operational activities that support regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, policy oversight, and quality improvement across the health system.
Reporting to the Corporate Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, this position plays a critical role in supporting continuous - Always Patient Ready - managing regulatory and performance data, and overseeing the system-wide policy management program.
The Manager of Quality and Regulatory Operations works closely with corporate and facility leaders to ensure that quality and regulatory operations are aligned with system goals and meet the highest standards of compliance, safety, and performance.
The Manager, Quality & Regulatory Affairs Operations, will play a pivotal role serving as an operational point person and liaison in the management of the portfolio of system regulatory affairs initiatives.
Regulatory and Accreditation Operations:
Leads and drives the successful execution of Regulatory Affairs initiatives
Coordinate and support system-wide regulatory readiness activities, including mock surveys, audits, tracer rounds, and pre/post-survey action plans
Maintain and communicate timelines, documentation, and operational readiness plans for scheduled and unscheduled regulatory events
System Policy Program Oversight:
Oversees the system policy program, including oversight of the system policy review process and committees and serves as administrator for the system policy management application
Ensuring that all policies are current, compliant, and accessible
Coordinate routine policy review cycles and manage policy approval workflows across departments and leadership groups
Collaborate with stakeholders to draft, revise, retire, and disseminate policies
Maintain the centralized policy repository and support staff access, training, and communication related to policy updates
Data Management and Performance Monitoring:
Manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of regulatory compliance and quality metrics to inform decision-making and performance improvement
Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track system-level and facility-level performance against regulatory benchmarks
Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities using data insights and collaborate with leadership to address gaps
Project and Program Support:
Support or lead projects focused on improving survey readiness, quality outcomes, and regulatory performance across the system
Assist in the development and implementation of initiatives that promote a culture of - Always Patient Ready - and proactive compliance
Ensure program milestones, deliverables, and goals are met through effective planning and cross-functional coordination
Communication and Reporting:
Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and briefings for executive leaders, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders
Serve as a communication bridge between the Corporate VP of Regulatory Affairs and operational teams, ensuring timely dissemination of regulatory updates and expectations
Education and Coordination
Help coordinate and support regulatory education and training efforts for staff, leaders, and quality teams across the system.
Serve as a resource to departments on regulatory policy, survey readiness tools, and system expectations for compliance
Travel: Less than 10% of the time may be required
Work Type: On-site - Works in the office at a physical workplace, interacting with colleagues face-to-face
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education - Bachelor's Degree Public Health, Healthcare administration, Nursing, or a related field required
Experience
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in regulatory affairs, healthcare quality, or a related field
Previous leadership or project management experience preferred
Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required):
Ability to collect, analyze and present data to drive improvement and monitor compliance
Excellent written, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and coach teams at all levels of the organization
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a matrixed environment, balancing corporate priorities with facility needs
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
Strong judgement, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Working knowledge of improvement science tools and methods
Preferred Qualifications Education
Master's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare administration, Nursing, or a related field required
Experience - 8 years minimum experience Experience
Clinical background preferred
