Job Summary and Qualifications
Facilitates rehabilitation of patients with neurological, psychosocial, orthopedic and cardiopulmonary diagnoses and conditions by assessment, evaluation and treatment in an acute hospital setting. Participates and provides valuable input regarding discharge planning.
What will you do in this role:
Identifies and documents precautions and implications for PT treatment intervention from medical history screening process.
Identifies and documents learning preferences and educational barriers.
Utilizes appropriate functional assessment indexes for goal and treatment planning.
Maintains statistics and submits reports to coordinator accurately and in a timely manner.
Enters accurate and timely charges on the day of treatment.
Performs appropriate specific tests and measures to identify patient problems to establish an occupational therapy diagnosis.
Implements all treatment techniques, modalities and equipment in accordance with the treatment protocols, policies, procedures and competencies of the department.
Assesses and documents patient response to treatment and learning on routine basis.
Assesses and documents patient discharge status, goal status and discharge needs/plan and discusses with primary PT Establishes a collaborative relationship with referring practitioners through effective communication.
What qualifications you will need:
Associates Degree is required
Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of the beginning of employment.
1-3 years of clerical/administrative experience required, medical/healthcare experience preferred.
