Position Description Anoka County Community Social Services and Behavioral Health is currently seeking a full-time Associate Social Worker to join the Child Foster Care unit within the Licensed Care and Adult Services Department. Pay & Benefits Salary: $64,480 to $77,355 ($31.00 to $37.19 per hour). 2025 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 32: $64,480 to $90,230 ($31.00 to $43.38 per hour). 24 days of paid flexible time off and up to 12.5 paid holidays. Advancement/professional development opportunities. Work Location This position will work at Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Ave, Anoka, MN 55303. This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work, with some days working remotely and some days working in the office. This position will work in the community as needed. Expected work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Job Duties and Responsibilities These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Associate Social Worker. Assist clients in completing initial licensing paperwork to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Facilitate emergency relative referrals, ensuring timely placement and compliance with safety standards. Meet with clients in home-based settings in county and out of county. Assess home and safety requirements by completing in home inspections. Meet with prospective foster parents to assess appropriateness for child foster care program and provide program information. Assist clients in obtaining verifications needed to obtain background study information and submit into the State data system; process clearance letters and criminal background records. Complete and maintain case notes and records in SSIS. Communicate effectively with clients, providers, agency staff, and the public. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including, but not limited to, Child Protection social workers, other county support staff and State licensing and background study staff. Organize, prioritize, and manage workflow. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Bachelor's degree in a closely related field. In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Valid driver's license and vehicle available for business use. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related field. One year (2,080 annual hours) or more of job-related experience in human services, social services, or closely related field. Experience working with licensing standards. Experience working with children and/or individuals that are affected by issues including neglect, domestic violence, disability, mental health, homelessness and financial insecurities. Experience working with SSIS, NetStudy and Caseworks computer systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in problem-solving, critical thinking and effective time management. Physical Demands and Work Conditions Standard office environment. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness. Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds. Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work. Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs. Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment. Reliable transportation is required. Travel within the community in county and out of county as needed.
