Job Description
Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support a major industrial development project onsite in the South Richmond, Virginia area. This large-scale facility will include multiple buildings supporting advanced manufacturing operations and is designed with a strong emphasis on sustainability and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in managing complex construction projects, particularly in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environments. This role requires strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to manage diverse stakeholders and ensure successful project delivery.
This is a full-time, on-site role requiring consistent presence at the project site in the South Richmond, Virginia area Monday through Friday. Requirements may change depending on our client's needs.
Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end project delivery, from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
Oversee construction activities across multiple buildings and disciplines, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and reporting tools.
Facilitate regular project meetings and ensure timely communication across all parties.
Manage procurement processes and support contract negotiations.
Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively resolving issues as they arise.
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Support sustainability goals including carbon neutrality, waste reduction, and green building certifications.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
Track and report on KPIs, milestones, and deliverables to internal leadership and client stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and implementing process enhancements.
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 7-10 years of experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, or manufacturing construction projects.
Proven ability to lead complex, multi-phase construction efforts with diverse stakeholder groups.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, and contract management.
Experience with sustainability-focused projects and familiarity with LEED or similar certifications is a plus.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work full-time on-site in the South Richmond, Virginia area, and maintain a consistent presence to support client and project needs.
