DESCRIPTION:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and executing various financial and accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, analysis, and compliance. The applicant hired will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the organization's financial data and assisting the Controller and CFO to complete a variety of important routine accounting tasks. THIS ROLE IS ONSITE.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Have clear knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Experienced in working with adjusting entries, depreciation and amortization schedules.

General Ledger Management:

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts.

Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.

Reconciliation:

Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile other financial accounts regularly.

Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues.

Compliance:

Work with different state permits and sales tax registrations

Stay up to date with changes in accounting and tax laws.

Other:

Prepare Commission schedules for sales team.

Assist in filing monthly Sales Tax returns.

Check and adjust Physical Inventory periodically.

Experienced working with ad-hoc reports.

Assist in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience

Three to Five years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with progressive responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.

Proficiency in accounting software, ERP Systems and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Knowledge of Job Costing concepts (Preferred)

Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations.

Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
