Chemours is seeking an Operations Manager to join our Thermal and Specialized Solutions (TSS) team! This position will report directly to the Plant Manager at our Corpus Christi Site in Ingleside, Texas .
The Operations Manager position will provide strategic and operational guidance for the safe and cost-effective operation of our Base Operations manufacturing facilities. The role has multiple direct exempt reports, including Production Leaders, Day and Shift Production Supervisors. This role will also be accountable for the non-exempt production technicians and other support roles for the manufacturing area. The Operations Manager will interact directly with business and supply chain teams for coordination of schedules and understanding of customer needs.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Set expectations and hold people accountable for Values and Behaviors compliance in EHS, PSM, and Ethics and is expected to be a role model for appropriate behavior.
Accountable for translating the business strategy into actionable operations and improvement plans, including establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
Provide input to the 3-5-year site strategic plan which supports the business and corporate strategy.
Communicate and implement business objectives, priorities, and progress.
Develop and implement resource plans for effective performance, positive employee relations and work environment.
Provide leadership for improvement programs and asset productivity best practices across the area with the use of continuous improvement methodologies such as Agile, Six Sigma® and Lean Methodologies.
Develop and implement plans to meet the area production and cost commitments, achieve cost of manufacture, fixed and variable cost productivity.
Manages processes to achieve excellence in Quality and Customer Service expectations.
Lead continuous learning, development, and performance efforts.
Manage site services agreements and service reconciliations with our industrial complex landlord.
The following is required for this role:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
10 or more years of experience in manufacturing operations
Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work with a diverse population of employees and contractors
Thorough process safety management skills in high hazard operations
Demonstrated leadership abilities in facilitating continuous improvement in various manufacturing areas such as capacity release, quality, and EHS
The following is preferred for this role:
Experience in chemical plant operations or equivalent military experience
Six Sigma certification and / or Agile, Lean Manufacturing experience is highly desirable
Familiarity with SAP for cost/work order administration
Familiarity with Asset Care processes such as Work Management Process, Reliability improvement processes, capital processes, etc.
