THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services (DHS), Norristown State Hospital is seeking reliable Semi Skilled Laborers. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Semi Skilled Laborer, you will p rovide maintenance services to support the daily operations of Norristown State Hospital by working in the labor, heating, plumbing, painting, and electric shops. You will also assist steamfitters in the b oiler plant as well as perform roadwork repair and groundskeeping. This role requires using a variety of h and tools, power tools, and equipment needed to accomplish work. In addition, you will maintain laundry equipment, clear snow from sidewalks and parking lots, and c lean piping systems, traps, machinery rooms, storm-sewers, and sanitary sewers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Condition of Employment:
You must be in possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
