EHS Specialist (Industrial Safety/ Industrial Manufacturing)

Job Description

This is a full-time Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist position that involves working 40 hours per week. The role involves supporting a leading energy company located in Wilmington, NC, in maintaining EHS projects and assisting in achieving operational excellence. The position requires on-site presence at the Wilmington, NC location, as operations expand and regulatory expectations increase.

Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day EHS activities, safety inspections, and recordkeeping.

Support incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and safety program initiatives.

Provide coverage during peak project periods or project start-ups.

Conduct pre-job briefs and EHS observations.

Essential Skills

EHS experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.

Ability to conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety observations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging employees at all levels.

Strong organizational skills for managing records, reports, and compliance documentation.

Ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated commitment to fostering a strong safety culture.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline.

3-5 years of experience in an industrial safety environment.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification preferred.

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing environment. The role includes working with vendors supporting retrofitting efforts for a new building area. The candidate will operate both in a construction setting, during interior remodeling, and on the manufacturing floor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
