Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:Experience providing administrative support in a higher education or professional office setting.

Front-facing customer service experience

Experience coordinating, scheduling, and managing logistics for medium to large events

Familiarity with Workday or similar workforce management system

Job Description:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant II to support our faculty, staff, and students.

If you like variety in your work and being the go-to person for getting things done, this could be a great fit for you.

What You'll Do:

Keep the office running by managing supplies, mail, shared equipment, and classroom support.

Support student workers by tracking time, correcting records, and communicating with HR, payroll, and faculty.

Coordinate events by arranging catering, booking rooms, and handling logistics for everything from small meetings to department celebrations.

Manage access and tech needs, including key distribution and phone/data line requests.

Assist faculty committees with scheduling, tracking outcomes, and preparing materials.

Job Details:

Full-time, on-site position located in Ames, Iowa.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Occasional flexibility may be needed for event support.
