Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector (NGAS) has an opening for a Business Development Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Strategy and Growth organization. This leadership role may be based in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
This role will be accountable for leading our business development efforts and successfully growing the sector by focusing on High Altitude Long Endurance ISR, Airborne Targets, and Group 3 UAS opportunities. This role will be focused on working in conjunction with the program team to protect and grow our existing franchise opportunities, shape captures and opportunities, and develop robust business development strategies aligned to our Business Unit priorities. This role will also work alongside and in conjunction with Triton Business Development for synergy and surge support.
This leader will be hardlined to Division Strategy & Growth and with an assignment role to the AISR&T Vice President. This leader will work with the RQ-4, Targets, Group 3 UAS, and Triton teams team located in San Diego, CA. This role will require close collaboration with the Communications and Business Development organizations, Business Unit Strategy, and execution leadership. In addition, this leader will build strong, enduring and mutually supportive relationships with other Northrop Grumman Divisions and Sectors.
Essential Responsibilities
Develops and executes a business development strategy and plan for the RQ-4, Targets, and Group 3 UAS programs with the objective of growing our relationship and business pipeline
Develop approaches for, coordinate, and support engagement plans with RQ-4, Group 3 UAS, and Targets customers and government and private stakeholders
Maintain accuracy and currency of data in SalesForce, with attention towards relationships and business pipelines
Coordinate with Triton business development and program teams for synergy and surge support
Develop technically/strategically relevant and executive level whitepapers, talking points, briefings to meet Business Unit objectives
Work alongside, and support, program Advanced Development teams to identify new opportunities or applications for products combined with either existing or new product offerings and work closely with the business to develop and shape the requirements and opportunities to maximize profitability
Interact comfortably and effectively with senior strategic customers, decision makers, third party partners, and officers within Northrop Grumman
Collaboratively execute the program's strategic growth plan
Assess opportunities available within and beyond existing markets, offerings, and business models
Scan the environment for business opportunities, maintain proactive surveillance over market, and work with the Strategy team to perform financial or business case analysis as needed
Recommend financial and non-financial strategic objectives and alternatives
Leverage data to develop clear and measurable Business Development activities in support of Program and Business Unit objectives, manage and track progress to plans
Ensure that business development activities are carried out in accordance with Government, customer, and Northrop Grumman policies, procedures, and processes.
Responsible for driving the Programs growth and marketing objectives by increasing our pipeline resiliency, velocity to qualify opportunities, and the ability to maximize our response to include a full-portfolio perspective.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, sciences or related field and 7 years of related experience, or a master's degree in business, engineering, sciences or related field and 5 years of related experience, or a PhD and 4 years of related experience
Experience in systems/services contracting with U.S. DoD programs and customers
Proven relationships and credibility in the federal contracting industry
Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain up to a Top Secret clearance.
Demonstrated leadership experience, either leading direct reports or leadership by influence (i.e., campaign teams, Integrated Product Teams)
Exceptional written and presentation development skills
Attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret data
Ability to perform deep research into acquisition status, processes, and key stakeholders across multiple services and organizations
Impeccable leadership and communication skills
Ability to work on-site at program location in San Diego, CA
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 50% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in business, engineering, sciences or related field or related discipline
A minimum of 5 years of experience in ISR, Targets, government acquisitions, logistics business, or other areas across military and government domains
10 years of ISR or targets experience working within the Department of Defense, Military branches, or civilian government roles
Experience working with US Air Force, US Navy, or the Test Resource Management Center
International Direct Commercial Sales or Foreign Military Sales Experience
Program management and/or operational experience
Business Development or program management/execution experience
Active Top-Secret Clearance
Trained in BD and/or Capture processes

Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
