The salary range for this position is:
$46.10 - $62.66 Hourly
$3,688.15 - $5,012.72 Biweekly
$7,991.00 - $10,860.90 Monthly

This unit exists to oversee the enforcement and compliance efforts of the FAMLI Division. The unit will consist of auditors and investigators ensuring employers are participating in the program as required by law and not engaging in any prohibited activities and investigating fraudulent claims for benefits, auditors reviewing employer records to ensure premiums are properly calculated, and other enforcement staff.
The Field Audit Team ensures compliance with FAMLI statutes with Colorado employers by obtaining facts and data through the systematic examination of their books and records. The data may be used to verify the correct premium assessment, collecting missing premium reports, verifying proper worker classifications, and make legal liability determinations concerning payments for services that were not properly classified as covered employment.
The Risk Mitigation Team identifies and mitigates internal and external risk factors. The Risk Mitigation team conducts internal control reviews, conducts control testing and analysis, identifies and formalizes risk issues, and establishes mitigation strategies, and manages issue resolution. Additionally, the team will create and manage the overall Risk Assessment Report which identifies high risk areas, residual risks, and mitigation plans.
The ACE Auditor IV is responsible to perform reviews of the current audit plans completed by the Auditor Specialists to approve and to ensure audit rules and Division standards are followed, proper determinations made, and audit accuracy. The Auditor IV will document and report on all unit matrices to Auditor V, provide feedback, coaching, and recommendations to audits specialists. Auditor IV will function as an audit process and FAMLI statute expert related to all aspects of the audit unit plans. The Auditor IV is the first point of escalation to handle incoming employer complaints or calls, complex questions, or potential systems issues, and escalate any further actions to the Auditor V/Audit Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:
Eight (8) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to eight (8) years
Current, valid licensure as a CPA from the Colorado Board of Accountancy or current, valid CIA certificate will substitute for five (5) years of the requirement
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with payroll auditing
One or more years of supervisory experience in managing teams
Experience with staff performance management and performance improvement activities
Demonstrated experience with government auditing, documenting audit findings and communicating them to leadership or external stakeholders.
Experience in equitable workload distribution and prevent burnout in your team
Experience leading a team where complex regulations or policies have to be applied and interpreted
Required Competencies:
Experience managing the day-to-day activities of similar units
Experience with staff performance management and performance improvement activities
Experience analyzing, documenting and improving processes and procedures
Experience managing to key performance indicators
Ability to identify operational issues and challenges and to communicate recommendations for improvements to various cross-functional areas (e.g. training, information technology, etc.)
Judgment and decision making
