The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity as a Safety and Security Operations Supervisor at Montana State Hospital. TheSafety and Security Operations Supervisordevelops, implements, and monitors safety and security standards and procedures for the Forensic Mental Health Facility in Galen. Position assigns and monitors tasks to employees related to the provision of 24/7 operational security in a secure forensic facility, provides safety and security training, monitors all security systems and facility access, and identifies and investigates security policy violations. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity: Knowledge of relevant equipment and strategies to promote effective safety and security operations in a secure facility. Knowledge and understanding of available technology related to security or surveillance. Knowledge of emergency and disaster planning. Ability to utilize appropriate technology and communicate that knowledge to others. Ability to write comprehensive reports and summary of events. Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend complex rules, statutes, and regulations. Ability to develop and conduct effective training programs. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Ability to analyze and communicate processes and situations to others. Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment necessary to complete the essential functions including word processing, database, email, internet and other computer programs. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social sciences, safety, criminal justice, mental health, education, communication, emergency management, health care or related field. Two years' experience engaged in safety, emergency management, investigative, or security functions as a major job activity. Two years' experience in supervision is preferred. Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
