Job Summary

Primarily responsible for managing technical accounting matters, conducting accounting risk assessments and monitoring internal controls for assigned accounting areas for the Comcast enterprise. Involves developing an expertise in GAAP for assigned areas, as well as an understanding of accounting policies, risks, controls, processes, systems and areas of judgement for the Comcast enterprise.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Manage technical accounting matters and partner with Comcast business units on the development and application of accounting policies and implementation of internal controls.

Perform technical accounting research and document conclusions for complex accounting matters.

Perform accounting risk assessments to identify and evaluate risks and internal controls.

Monitor internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure controls are operating effectively.

Identify and communicate control findings to management and executive leadership.

Research new and proposed accounting standards and monitor changes in the business environment and emerging risks.

Provide training to others on new accounting standards and technical accounting topics.

Participate in close-related accounting reviews and analyses.

Identify opportunities for improvement in current processes

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

CPA

Open to candidates with 4+ years of relevant experience (e.g., public accounting and/or larger public companies)

Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX, SEC guidance, and COSO framework

Strong documentation and communication skills, including ability to explain technical concepts

Ability to build relationships with others and work directly with senior executives
