Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in San Diego, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a crucial role in managing cash flow, ensuring accurate invoice processing, and maintaining compliance with company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization.

Responsibilities:

Review and verify vendor invoices to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Process employee expense reports and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Maintain and update vendor records to prevent unauthorized payments and expenses.

Prepare and manage 1099 forms, ensuring year-end reporting requirements are met.

Investigate and resolve issues related to delayed payments or urgent transactions.

Organize and maintain records, including invoices, checks, and other financial documents.

Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.

Reconcile supplier statements and bank accounts to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.

Generate recurring and ad hoc financial reports as needed.

Address customer service inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding accounts payable processes. Requirements - At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.

Proficiency in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and account reconciliation.

Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.

Experience working with accounting software, such as Yardi.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage financial records effectively.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and urgent financial matters.

Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
