Laboratory Assistant

Position Overview

The Laboratory Assistant supports Laboratory Analysts by performing routine tasks that ensure smooth lab operations. This entry-level role typically pays between $18-$20/hour and is designed for individuals with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn in a regulated lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in sample preparation and testing for various water @types (groundwater, drinking water, surface water, wastewater, stormwater).

Maintain laboratory cleanliness, including cleaning glassware and organizing supplies.

Support data entry and documentation in accordance with lab protocols.

Handle hazardous materials safely and follow disposal procedures.

Participate in weekly team meetings and assist with inventory and equipment maintenance.

Preferred Skills

Basic understanding of lab procedures and safety standards.

Ability to follow written protocols and maintain accurate records.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Experience with specimen handling or lab instrumentation is a plus.

Work Environment

Fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

May involve standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Clean zone protocols may apply (e.g., lab coats, safety glasses).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
