Seeking an Accounting Manager in the Bondurant Area!!

Job Description

The Accounting Manager will perform general cost accounting and related duties within the accounting department. The role involves preparing periodic financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and managing accounts payable and receivable. The successful candidate will support external audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Additionally, they will coordinate with software vendors to maintain and enhance accounting systems as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.

Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.

Maintain the general ledger.

Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.

Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.

Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections.

Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

Provide outside auditors with assistance and gather necessary account information and documents to perform the annual audit.

File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

Coordinate with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems and recommend updates to enhance the software as appropriate.

Essential Skills

Expertise in accounting and asset management.

Proficiency in monthly financial reporting.

Experience in coding invoices and handling collections.

Knowledge of capital expenditure processes.

Ability to make journal entries.

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.

Experience managing a small team is preferred.

Experience managing $20-30 million in revenue.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must have a degree in Finance or Accounting.

CPA certification is a plus.

Ability to forecast financial outcomes based on past and current trends.

Experience with TITAN system specific to precast manufacturers.

Proficiency in Excel.

Work Environment

The role operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with flexibility in hours. The Accounting Manager will have their own office and may occasionally work in a hybrid capacity if needed. Bonuses are awarded based on attendance.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bondurant, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $58.00/hr.
