MnCIFA is hiring! MnCIFA is a mission-driven "Green Bank" focused on impact investing with the paramount goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We are new State Agency with the vibe of an entrepreneurial start-up.
We offer a hybrid work environment with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days of telework. Telework can be outside of the state of Minnesota if the candidate lives in a state bordering Minnesota and lives 50 miles or less from the primary work location. Our office is located in the Golden Rule Building in downtown St. Paul.
As Finance Administrative Assistant, you will support MnCIFA's loan and investment and finance teams. This position will assist with the loan application and loan closing process, loan document tracking, and various projects. The role will also provide support with budget monitoring and reporting, tracking loan payment invoices, as well as meeting scheduling and travel logistics and support. Responsibilities include:
Loan investment support - assist the Chief Investment Officer and Loan Origination Officers with the loan application and loan closing process, including reaching out to borrowers for documents to complete their file, reviewing documents for accuracy, tracking documents not received, and following-up.
Active project management to ensure loans come to closing.
Schedule meetings for loan closings, prospective loan applicants/borrowers, and other key meetings. Prepare project proposals, credit memos, PowerPoint presentations, and other materials for meetings.
Provide finance support to the CFO with monthly budget monitoring and reporting, tracking monthly invoices for loan payments and processing forms related to budget and procurement.
Coordinate external engagements and travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Accounting and budgeting skills sufficient to create purchasing orders, code invoices, track budgets and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures sufficient to maintain accurate budget records and reports.
Word processing skills sufficient to use software to create, format, edit, print, and modify a variety of correspondence, records, and reports; perform mail merges, develop forms and charts.
Skills using spreadsheet software applications sufficient to create spreadsheets from a variety of sources and create lists, spreadsheets, charts and graphs to track projects and activities.
Database management skills sufficient to develop/maintain various databases and retrieve and analyze information in database systems such as SharePoint and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Customer service practices and principles sufficient to interpret and explain program information, convey complicated information in an understandable manner, as well as to schedule and confirm customers' appointments in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence.
Communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively, provide clear explanations, and interpret policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive administrative assistant experience in budget monitoring and reporting, customer service, meeting scheduling and travel logistics.
Experience in State, Tribal, Federal, or local government.
Experience or demonstrated interest in environmental sustainability, environmental justice, climate action, and/or economic development.
Commercial or community bank lending experience.
Familiarity with a Customer Relationship Management software (CRM).
Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
