POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a high-energy, visionary and technically adept Chief Information Officer (CIO) with deep expertise in enterprise technology leadership within the aerospace and defense sector. As the senior technology executive, the CIO will architect and execute a secure, scalable, and mission-aligned IT strategy that supports both classified and unclassified operations. This role is critical in driving digital transformation across the organization, modernizing legacy systems, leading cloud adoption, and implementing automation to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
The CIO will oversee the design, deployment, and governance of enterprise information systems with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity resilience, regulatory compliance (including NIST, DFARS, and CMMC), and high availability across all platforms. They will also lead the development of AI and data analytics frameworks to support predictive maintenance, intelligent decision-making, and real-time situational awareness for aerospace programs.
By aligning advanced technology solutions with government contracting requirements and aerospace mission objectives, the CIO ensures the organization remains agile, secure, and innovation-driven in a highly regulated and competitive environment.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a key member of the executive team, collaborating with other executives to assess technological needs, and contributing to overall business strategy.
Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and technology investments to maximize ROI.
Build and mentor a high-performing technology organization that supports innovation and operational excellence.
Identify and implement emerging technologies that support business agility and competitive advantage.
Lead change management initiatives to foster culture or digital fluency and adoption.
Champion digital innovation across departments to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-wide information systems and infrastructure.
Ensure scalability, reliability, and alignment with organizational growth and operational needs.
Lead cross-functional teams in deploying and maintaining business-critical applications.
Develop and enforce comprehensive cybersecurity policies and protocols. Monitor and mitigate risks related to data privacy, regulatory compliance, and threat detection.
Collaborate with stakeholders and legal teams to ensure adherence to industry standards and government regulations.
Evaluate and implement platforms that support intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and data modeling. Architect and oversee the integration of AI and machine learning solutions into core business processes.
Partner with data analysts, engineering, and legal teams to ensure ethical and scalable AI deployment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
Overall, 15+ years' experience, with 5+ years in executive-level leadership roles such as CIO, CTO, or VP of IT.
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology Management, and/or Cybersecurity. A Master's degree is preferred. 20+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with 5+ years in executive-level leadership roles such as CIO, CTO, or VP of IT.
Deep expertise in enterprise architecture and cloud platforms; cybersecurity frameworks, AI/ML systems integration, agile and DevOps methodologies, and data governance and analytics strategy.
CISSP, CISM, or equivalent (for security leadership)
PMP or Agile/Scrum certifications
AI/ML or Data Science credentials (e.g., TensorFlow, AWS AI, AWS/Azure Architect, Microsoft AI Fundamentals)
Track record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
