This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is responsible for developing processes that create outstanding employee experiences, support member needs and meet the Credit Union's strategic objectives.
What you'll do
Lead and manage a team responsible for ensuring compliance with credit union policies and procedures related to lending and account opening processes
Design and implement strategies and reporting methods to validate new account, deposit product, and consumer loan applications
Conduct quality control reviews of consumer loan applications to ensure adherence to underwriting policies and procedures
Review samples of newly opened memberships and accounts to verify eligibility and confirm that all required documentation is collected and properly imaged
Develop and maintain a system to track loan and account documentation exceptions, focusing on missing or recurring deficiencies
Establish and oversee a certification process to document and track reviewed loans and accounts
Analyze and organize departmental findings to identify training needs and procedural enhancements aimed at reducing errors and minimizing financial losses; present insights to management across the organization
Partner with the Loss Mitigation Team to detect and monitor fraud trends in account opening and loan processes
Collaborate regularly with leaders from Branch Operations and Phone Loan teams to discuss review findings, employee training opportunities, and process improvements
Review charge-off data in coordination with the Payment Collection & Recovery Team to identify trends and inform potential underwriting or training adjustments
Benchmark quality assurance practices against industry standards and recommend enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency
Monitor loan application trends to determine if underwriting guidelines require modification or clarification
Set performance goals and establish operational standards for team members to optimize productivity and ensure effective execution of responsibilities
Maintain and regularly update the department's disaster recovery plan to ensure business continuity
Provide management reports related to system usage
Develop, initiate, maintain and revise procedures for the operation of the team
Manage departmental projects and ensure department goals are met
Ensure performance within the approved budget
Perform other duties as assigned

All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
?High school diploma or GED
Three or more years of successful work experience relevant to the role
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
?Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field, or a minimum of three years of equivalent work experience relevant to the role
Previous banking or Credit Union experience
Three or more years of prior supervisory or leadership experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
?Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
Strong quantitative skills, with the ability to utilize statistics to validate loand and account sample sizes
Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills and exercise effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management
Ability to demostrate excellent people management and employee engagement skills, including leading, developing, coaching and motivating staff
Ability to supervise multiple team members
Ability to broadly evaluate and improve departmental processes with an eye towards details, automation and process improvement
Ability to manage projects in accordance with short- and long-range objectives
Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, continually changing environment
Ability to self-motivate with strong organizational skills and capacity for attention to detail
Ability to work well independently or with cross-functional project teams
Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
