The DNR is looking for a driven individual to join their team as a Fiscal Analyst 1 in the Olympic Region. This position performs professional entry-level financial review and analysis of fiscal data in the finance department. The incumbent processes data and reviews, analyzes, and interprets multiple reports from financial systems; analyzes and corrects discrepancies; assists higher-level staff in the implementation of financial systems; and recommends fiscal controls and improvements of business practices to upper management. To be successful in this role, the incumbent must be able to interact and communicate well with a wide range of employees, contractors, and vendors. The incumbent must also be able to focus in a very busy environment, as they are responsible for analyzing discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
Fiscal Accounting & Analysis: Accounts Payable, Journal Voucher, Accounts Receivable, Enters Monthly Equipment Reports (MERs), Processes Payroll and Benefits.
Required Qualifications:
One (1) year of fiscal technical experience.
Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel in a professional setting.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices, including payroll and/or accounts payable.
Experience using professional automated accounting programs.
Proficiency using a ten-key calculator.
Experience interpreting and explaining WAC, Collective Bargaining Agreements, agency policy and procedures, and other applicable regulations.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.
Ability to present and communicate technical information.
Adept at prioritizing, multitasking, and meeting firm deadlines.
Performs detail-oriented work with high accuracy.
