What you'll do...
We're looking for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead a high-impact Operations Tools engineering team within Sam's Club MAP (AdTech). The tools and platforms your team delivers are mission-critical to enabling Business Operations to plan, launch, and manage advertising campaigns that drive significant revenue for the organization. In this role, you'll guide multiple teams, work across diverse technologies, and deliver solutions that directly power business growth and operational excellence.
What you'll do:
Lead and Inspire Teams : Manage and mentor 2-3 Scrum teams to deliver high-performing, scalable tools and systems that underpin core business operations.
Own the Tooling Ecosystem : Drive the development and optimization of both external platforms (Salesforce, Appian, AdBook) and internal solutions (AdPal Reservation Calendar, Media Planning Engine) that enable the business to manage leads, workflows, media planning, and sponsorship reservations.
Partner for Business Impact : Work closely with Business Operations to ensure they have the reliable, efficient, and innovative tools required to execute advertising campaigns and meet business commitments.
Ensure Reliability and Quality : Oversee production support, incident triage, and ticketing processes for critical systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational continuity.
Align and Deliver : Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering peers to align roadmaps, manage dependencies, and consistently deliver outcomes that enable the business to achieve its strategic goals.
What you'll bring:
Proven Leadership Experience : History of successfully leading multi-team engineering organizations in high-impact, revenue-critical domains such as AdTech, SaaS, or enterprise tooling.
Technical Expertise : Strong background in diverse tech stacks (Java, Python, Django, React, NodeJS, Apache Airflow, Google BigQuery, Cassandra) and cloud infrastructure (Azure, GCP).
Business Collaboration Skills : Ability to partner with non-technical stakeholders to transform operational needs into scalable, reliable, and impactful technical solutions.
Operational Excellence Mindset : Experience in production support, incident management, and driving continuous improvement to protect and enhance business-critical systems.
Results-Driven Delivery : Demonstrated track record of delivering complex, multi-platform projects on time and with high quality in an Agile environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
2 years' supervisory experience.
