Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
The strategic role of Senior Advisor - Accountant will lead complex accounting activities and ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DFARS. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of government cost accounting, large-scale financial reporting, and operational excellence in a high-growth, compliance-driven environment. This position will work cross-functionally to ensure financial integrity, support segment-level decision-making, and drive strategic initiatives that support profitability and long-term contract performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead complex accounting operations and financial reporting for a $2 billion+ federal contracting segment, ensuring full compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS.
Oversee financial close processes, including revenue recognition, indirect cost allocations, accruals, and reconciliations at the segment level.
Prepare, review, and analyze segment financial statements, forecasts, indirect rate models, and program-level reporting.
Serve as a lead accounting liaison during internal, external, and regulatory audits (e.g., DCAA, DCMA), ensuring readiness and accurate documentation.
Advise senior leadership on financial impacts of business decisions, contract modifications, indirect rate strategies, and risk mitigation.
Lead or support the preparation and submission of incurred cost proposals, forward pricing rate proposals, and CASB disclosure statements.
Partner with Contracts, Pricing, Program Finance, and Compliance teams to support large-scale proposal development, contract execution, and performance monitoring.
Drive improvements in internal controls, financial systems, and accounting policies to support scalable growth.
Support ERP system enhancements, financial system integrations, and accounting automation initiatives.
Mentor junior accountants and analysts, providing guidance on compliance, controls, and financial stewardship.
May be tasked to provide inputs in assisting with the development of annual budgets.
Assist in other finance special projects or functions as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained may be substituted.
Certification/Licenses:
CPA is required, active status preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of fifteen (15) years' progressive accounting experience, including three (3) years in a senior or advisory capacity.
Demonstrated experience supporting high-revenue, multi-entity segments ($1B+), with complex cost structures.
ERP proficiency in large-scale financial environments.
Other Requirements:
United States citizenship.
May work extended hours.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience:
Experience in federal government contracting environment, including multiple contract @types (CPFF, T&M, FFP) desired.
Expertise in FAR, CAS, and DCAA/DCMA audit protocols preferred.
Systems experience with IFS, Kyriba, SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA a plus.

Financial/Business Acumen:
Comprehensive technical knowledge of GAAP requirements, government financial performance, operational accounting, and SOX compliance.
Deep understanding of how accounting drives contract performance, profitability, and long-term growth.
Proven track record managing and supporting audits in a regulatory-heavy environment.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
Ability to maintain strict compliance with V2X policies and procedures relating to our Business Ethics and Code of Conduct, in addition to specific procurement regulations established by the federal government.
Demonstrates the highest degree of safeguarding confidential, sensitive, business, and employee data.

Proficient in the use of computer software programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and advanced to expert knowledge of Excel.
Technology:
Company computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.

The successful candidate's starting pay will be based on, but not limited to, their job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
The following salary range is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation and may be modified at the discretion of the company.
USD $ 115,000 - 160,000
Provided salary range minimum and maximum values correspond to variances between regional/geographic locations across the United States.
