Description

An Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist in York, PA, plays a critical role in managing financial operations by ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices. This position is open to professionals with a range of experience-no degree is required for this role, and recent graduates or individuals starting their financial careers are strongly encouraged to apply. Job Responsibilities:

Process incoming invoices by verifying accuracy, coding, and entering them into the accounts payable system.

Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Communicate with vendors and internal departments to address and resolve invoice discrepancies.

Monitor due dates and ensure timely processing of payments to avoid delays or penalties.

Prepare check, ACH, and wire payment runs in accordance with company policies.

Maintain and update vendor account information, ensuring accuracy in records and compliance with company standards.

Assist with month-end accounts payable reconciliation and auditing processes.

Support the accounting team by contributing to special projects as needed.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; degrees are not mandatory for this position.

Recent graduates or individuals with basic accounting knowledge are encouraged to apply.

Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail to review invoices and maintain accurate records.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and/or other accounting software (experience with systems like SAP or QuickBooks is a plus).

Effective written and verbal communication skills for vendor and internal team interactions.

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to manage discrepancies and issues.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

Exposure to basic accounting concepts through coursework, internships, or work experience.

Willingness to learn and grow in accounting roles over time.
