Overview
As a Health and Benefits Operations Manager, you will oversee, monitor, and direct all activities, workflows, and transactional management of the Regional teams within the Paychex Agency.
Responsibilities
Communicates expectations to the regional team leaders and reviews processes quarterly to meet budget and operational priorities.
Ensures client satisfaction through managing client losses.
Assists in establishing policies and implements all policies and procedures relating to the workflow of the assigned team to ensure timely and accurate service.
Ensures product and department integrity by maintaining compliance with state, federal, and insurance carrier guidelines and standards within the Agency and HRS.
Maintains and fosters carrier relationships, including General Agents, to ensure prompt and efficient service to client teams based on follow-up and issue resolution needs.
Works with Agency Compliance, carriers, and Paychex Legal to meet Federal/State regulation compliance and implement strategic business decisions.
Researches and proposes enhancements to existing products' operational processes to create efficiencies and maintain service levels.
Develops and maintains relationships with Sales, Premier, MMS, Product Management, Operations, IT, and Accounting partners to ensure optimal client service with minimal breakdowns between internal Paychex teams.
Review business processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency in productivity measures, and adherence to internal and external client service level standards. Recommend the necessary changes to maintain a competitive advantage.
Recruits, selects, hires, and evaluates personnel performance, ensuring all department needs are handled. Counsels and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through career development, training programs, and other resources as required for professional advancement.
Prepares the capital and operating budgets for the cost center(s) and analyzes interdepartmental reports related to the cost center(s). Achieves cost center projections through labor expense and administrative expense controls.
Must obtain a Life, Accident, and Health License within 90 days of employment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR, Healthcare Adminstration OR related field.
5+ of Expereince in Benefits Operations.
3+ years of Experience in Supervisory/ leaderhsip roles.
Proven success in Client Retention, Upselling OR Customer Success roles.
Excellent Communication, Analytical and Problem Solving Skills.
Relevant Insurance License This role requires you to be eligible for applicable insurance licensing in all 50 states, which may involve an enhanced background check. If you are not currently licensed, you will be required to obtain the necessary insurance license(s) within 90 calendar days of your official start date. Failure to obtain the required license(s) within 90 days of your start date and to maintain eligibility throughout the duration of your employment may result in corrective action, up to and including termination of employment. Paychex Insurance Agency, Inc. (PIA) will cover the cost of up to two (2) attempts to pass a state insurance licensing exam including exam materials and testing fee. The cost of any additional attempts will be at the expense of the individual employee. If an individual is hired by PIA with an active and current license(s), that employee will be responsible for the timely updating and/or verifying of any changes that may have occurred with their state license(s) prior to their start date at PIA. This includes any state of residence changes, e-mail changes, mailing address changes or name changes. - Required
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $83,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually plus bonuses. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
