Description

We are looking for an experienced interim Accounting Manager to join our team near Clinton, Indiana. In this Hybrid contract position, you will play a key role in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with established practices, and mentoring team members to achieve organizational goals. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage processes efficiently while supporting the Controller with month-end and year-end closing activities.

Responsibilities:

Reconcile and analyze General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and addressing discrepancies through corrective entries.

Review reconciliations prepared by staff and oversee month-end and year-end work papers and reporting.

Prepare monthly financial statements and assist in submissions to ensure compliance with corporate guidelines.

Support audits by gathering and organizing required documentation for internal and external review.

Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance on daily, monthly, and annual tasks.

Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, implementing controls and segregation of duties as needed.

Evaluate processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.

Oversee record-keeping for leases, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules, ensuring accuracy.

Collaborate with HR and other departments to address financial and operational inquiries.

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, adapting to new standards as required.

Requirements - A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related roles.

Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Viewpoint Vista and Oracle.

Strong knowledge of General Ledger processes, month-end close activities, and account reconciliations.

Experience with financial statement preparation and audits.

Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and intercompany accounting.

Ability to mentor and manage a team effectively, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and improve processes.

Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate across departments.
