Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

The main function of a warehouse worker is to efficiently receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.

Responsibilities

Receive and count stock items, recording data manually or using a computer.

Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.

Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.

Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.

Label stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.

Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.

Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.

Essential Skills

Verbal and written communication skills.

Analytical and problem-solving ability.

Team player and detail-oriented.

Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies for effective security operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

2-4 years of experience required.

Previous titles include: Material Handler.

Work Environment

This position operates within a shift schedule from 4:30 PM to 2:30 AM. The work environment includes the use of technology and equipment for receiving, storage, inventory, and packing tasks. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and cleanliness standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Old Lyme, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
