Job Title: Construction Project Manager Job Description

The role involves managing multiple construction projects of varying sizes concurrently. Responsibilities include producing and executing project schedules with milestones and critical paths, coordinating effectively with project teams, and performing accurate subcontractor and supplier scope analysis. The candidate will also need to perform complete construction estimates, present them to customers, review and approve invoices, and provide precise communication to team members, owners, and architects.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.

Produce and execute detailed project schedules with milestones and critical paths.

Coordinate with project teams and perform subcontractor and supplier scope analysis.

Perform and present complete construction estimates to customers.

Review and approve invoices.

Communicate precisely with team members, owners, and architects.

Facilitate weekly progress meetings and manage project budgets to achieve financial objectives.

Validate time and expenses to stay within budget and accurately track work performed.

Maintain effective relationships with customers, management, field staff, and subcontractors.

Read, comprehend, and implement project drawings and specifications.

Provide accurate and timely submittals for approval and maintain schedules.

Follow organizational processes, reporting, and risk mitigation measures.

Engage in industry networking events and continuing education.

Manage existing and develop new customer relationships.

3-5 years of direct construction experience preferred.

Work Environment

The position is with a full-service commercial general contractor providing services in Corporate Workplace, Private Education, Multi-Housing, Building Repurposing, Hospitality, and Healthcare/Wellness sectors. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7/8 AM to 5 PM. While the office is located downtown, the role primarily involves being on job sites. The dress code includes jeans, work boots, and appropriate sweatshirts or t-shirts. The Des Moines office has been operational since 2020 and accommodates up to 15 individuals. The role offers a competitive compensation package, vehicle allowance, bonus structure, paid parking, 401k, medical and dental benefits, and paid holiday and vacation time.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
