SUMMARY:
This position is required to work with Client Representatives and Client Customers to determine job site readiness, and coordinate construction with Client resource management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify primary and secondary electrical facilities including poles, primary wires, secondary wires, services, primary insulator, transformers, fuses, reclosers, regulators, disconnect switches, breakers, structures, current and voltage monitoring equipment, and protection as indicated.

Identify and differentiate the difference between electrical, cablevision and telephone lines, bus, high voltage and low voltage, know approach and safe working distances, and safe grounding practices.

Identify and report all necessary field issues to Engineer/Designer.

Meet with Client's customers or contractors to conduct site readiness.

Monitor timeframes for crews to perform work, proper material usage, and be the Customer's advisor on necessary overtime and potential change orders.

Work with client representatives to accomplish priorities to meet customer needs.

Work with Client to solve engineering and construction issues that arise in the field.

Comply and adhere to electrical distribution and/or substation safety rules as well as follow Company/Customer safety rules and all other designated policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION
Required High school degree or GED.
Preferred Associates degree (AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school).
Preferred Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or University in a technical or engineering field, or experience equivalent to 10 years' construction working for an electric utility.
EXPERIENCE:
5-7 Year(s) Experience in utility distribution or transmission systems (engineering, operations or construction) required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A valid state driver's license is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to understand the abstract nature of electricity flow in order to keep the workers and general population safe in and around the construction site.

Ability to read and follow distribution circuit maps, transmission line construction drawings, as well as substation construction drawings
