Forest Electric NJ seeks an Assistant Project Manager for our Edison, NJ office to support the Company in meeting its objectives and goals by overseeing assigned commercial electrical construction projects at various locations within New Jersey and take appropriate actions to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with defined resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned:

Collaborate with Project Managers to assist with the execution and managing terms of project contracts.

Partner with Project Managers, Engineers and/or Estimators to ensure a complete scope of work is defined and pricing

Reviewing drawings and specifications and preparing detailed estimates, including assigning material and labor values to take-off.

Preparing project schedules, change orders, and BEC & fire alarm filings.

Assist with acquiring vendor pricing on specialty materials, equipment and

Assist with material buyouts and

Prepare, maintain and present computer generated spreadsheets, logs and

Prepare and manage communications internally and with general contractors or construction managers for assigned

Monitor project budgets and labor

Assist with maintaining regular communication and collaboration with Estimators, Project Managers and Engineers.

Prepare documents for billing purposes and coordinate with accounting

Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as

Travel to various project sites as required and attend project walk-through meetings for bidding purposes and job

Regular, predictable and reliable onsite attendance is an essential function of the

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

1 - 2 years experience in high volume commercial electrical contractor.

Experience with medium voltage substation and distribution.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Proven communication and interpersonal skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk and or stand for extended periods of time and is required to frequently climb stairs throughout the workday. The position also requires occasional lifting and transporting of light to moderate objects. Project sites are OSHA complaint projects and all team members are required to wear appropriate PPE. PPE equipment and supplies will be provided by the Company to the employee. OSHA training shall apply.

Rate: $31.25 per hour

Other Compensation: Position is bonus eligible.

Education

Preferred

Bachelors or better in Electrical Engineering

Bachelors or better in Construction Management Services
