Your Specific Responsibilities:
Serves as a grant manager for agreements awarded under the Mitigation program
Reviews all sub-grant applications submitted by the local government within the employee's assigned area of responsibility and prepares contract award documents.
Conducting business underwriting analyses, including data evaluation, fiscal performance, and risk assessment.
Prepare reports containing underwriting analysis findings and other data that contribute to recommendations on award decisions.
Conducting eligibility analyses, to ensure applicants meet all eligibility criteria provided by program policies and procedures, laws, regulations, and agency guidelines.
Conducting cost/price analyses to determine all costs are reasonable and allowable.
Monitoring activities and expenditures of assigned contracts to ensure compliance with program guidelines, regulations, and contract requirements.
Producing high volume and high-quality work within compressed timeframes.
Researching and analyzing documents and policies to inform program decision making.
Monitor application and implementation of appropriate rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with financial and administrative requirements.
Ability to coordinate and manage activities with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
The employee monitors the progress of all assigned sub-grants through phone calls and email to representatives of the sub-grant recipients and through on-site visits to the communities
Providing technical assistance to subrecipients as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge in developing, administering, and monitoring State and or Federal grants and contracts
Working knowledge in financial transactions or evaluations, preferably with experience in commercial lines or business underwriting.
Ability to review and evaluate small business financial documents.
Ability to coordinate and manage activities with other members and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment while representing the Department's best interest.
Ability to use analytical skills to interpret and evaluate information.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to conduct research and provide reports and analyses as required.
Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, customer service, or ethics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and the Internet.
Strong customer service skills and knowledge of customer service best practices.
Excellent time management and critical thinking/problem solving skills.
Ability to understand programming processes and communicate clearly and actively with applicants and inquirers.
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Pay: $50,584.67 to $52,000.00 annually

The Work You Will Do:
The incumbent in this position serves as the Grant Manager in the Office of Long-Term Resiliency, Mitigation Infrastructure team responsible for providing guidance for all Mitigation Infrastructure programs and works to create efficiencies by standardizing processes and templates. Position also drafts Program level reports and documents, direct management of federal HUD grant funding received for use in implementing Infrastructure programs.
