As a Security Guard - Retail Patrol in Roanoke, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .
As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a welcoming environment at a busy retail location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, maintaining a visible presence to help prevent unwanted activity, and providing outstanding customer service to visitors and staff. This position requires driving as part of your patrol duties. What You'll Do:
Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits as required by site procedures.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding security-related matters.
Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and reporting any observed theft or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
A Guard Card or license is preferred.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
