Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Vista, California. In this role, you will focus on general ledger tasks, month-end close processes, and balance sheet reconciliations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to various financial projects and analyses while leveraging your expertise in accounting systems and practices.

Responsibilities:

Perform thorough balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Prepare and review journal entries to support the general ledger and month-end close processes.

Assist with the preparation of accrual entries and variance analysis to identify and address discrepancies.

Support corporate and sales tax-related tasks, including documentation and reporting.

Conduct reviews of payroll balance sheet reconciliations to ensure proper allocation and recording.

Collaborate on clearing historical transactions and resolving outstanding bank statement issues.

Utilize SAP (S/4HANA) to manage customized accounting workflows and financial data.

Provide assistance with ad hoc financial projects and reporting as needed.

Contribute to the improvement of accounting procedures and internal controls. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related roles.

Proficiency in SAP (S/4HANA) or similar accounting software.

Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and balance sheet reconciliations.

Experience with corporate and sales tax documentation and returns.

Proven ability to perform accurate variance analysis and month-end close procedures.

Familiarity with accrual accounting and journal entry preparation.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
