Entry Level Data Center Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Data Center Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about IT infrastructure and eager to gain hands-on experience in structured cabling within a data center environment. You'll work alongside experienced technicians to install, maintain, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling systems that support mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables

Install cable trays, pathways, and server racks according to blueprints and specifications

Label and document cable runs and equipment connections accurately

Perform fire-stopping procedures and install sleeves on low-voltage devices

Support grounding installations for racks, equipment, and cabling

Help with the setup and connection of network hardware (switches, servers, patch panels)

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and quality standards

Collaborate with senior technicians and project leads to ensure timely completion of tasks

Complete required documentation including timesheets, work orders, and inventory logs

Familiarity with data center environments and IT hardware

Experience with cable testing tools (e.g., Fluke testers)

Knowledge of safety protocols and fire code compliance

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
