Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Somerset, New Jersey. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing financial processes, ensuring the accuracy of reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic pharmaceutical industry environment and has a strong background in accounting and financial operations. This role would have a hybrid onsite schedule (3 days a week) in Somerset, NJ.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and execute monthly account reconciliations, including inventory rebate accounts, customer credit calculations, and inventory reserve calculations.

Maintain and manage sales tax payables, delivery accruals, fee accruals requiring attention to detail, waste accruals, and other contracted service accounts.

Review detailed financial reports prepared by senior accountants for accuracy and completeness.

Ensure timely filing and maintenance of unclaimed property accruals, utilizing EisnerAmper for compliance.

Conduct complex inventory count reconciliations, analyzing variances and proposing general ledger adjustments.

Post journal entries to the general ledger system as needed, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.

Prepare payments through online banking applications for release approval, contributing to efficient cash management processes.

Support financial audits by preparing necessary documentation and providing insights into reconciliations and accruals.

Continuously enhance processes for account management and reporting to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements - Proven experience with month-end close processes and account reconciliations.

Strong knowledge of general ledger systems and journal entry preparation.

Familiarity with accrual accounting, including inventory and fee accruals requiring attention to detail.

Proficiency in inventory accounting and reconciliation to the general ledger.

Experience with cash management and payment processing systems.

Knowledge of financial statement audits and compliance requirements.

Advanced skills in accounting software, particularly Great Plains (GPAC).

Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
