Team Overview and Job Responsibilities
Accountable to the Materials Manager this position is responsible for scheduling and expediting required materials through production departments to satisfy customer delivery while optimizing production efficiencies and inventory investment. Responsibilities also include establishing effective systems and operating procedures to provide materials at the lowest ultimate cost and with the highest quality. Must be able to optimize inventory investments in raw material and finished goods, while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction levels. You will be working with vendors in ordering and releasing raw materials and establishing kanbans and supplier managed inventory (SMI) procedures. This position will also work with the Master Scheduler and plant personnel on continuous improvement methods in scheduling and inventory control.
Who are we looking for?
Results-driven to effect constant improvement in cycle times, service and inventory turns.
Ability to plan, organize and pull together information from disparate sources to form a coherent picture of the state of play allowing for scoping of actions.
Solid logic/reasoning skills which are able to influence and persuade different functional groups within the organization.
Strong verbal and written communication skills a must (grammar, spelling, typing, listening)
Qualifications:
AS degree in related discipline - preferred (HS Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of similar experience - required.) BS degree in related - preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in at least one of the following: Supply Chain; Production Planning; or Logistics.
Experience in MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning)
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment working with SAP or ERP system experience.
Intermediate or advanced Excel experience - required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience reporting data, with extreme attention to detail.
Customer service skills and ability to work with a team or work independently.
Strong sense of urgency, strong problem-solving skills, and Business Acumen.
Excellent Time Management Skills, and ability to multi-task.
