Finance Business Partner Lead
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Finance Business Partner Lead (FBPL) role serves three main roles for the business and finance processes. The main role of the FBPL Role is to be the financial co-pilot for an assigned Unit Supporting Squad (USS). The USS is made up of ~3 Business Units and ~10 Squads. The FBPL serves as the key contact for financial decision making within the USS as the Customer-facing teams are held accountable to a Modified P&L consisting of Sales, Market Funding and Opex components. The FBPL collaborates with the team on actual results and steering the full year financial forecast and future year outlooks and planning. The second main component of this role is leading financial steering of the Crop Protection business within a cross functional team of Finance, Marketing, Product Teams, Sales, and Operations. The third main component of this role is leading the steering, compensation direction and calculations, discussions with some of our top Strategic Retail Partners across their entire business.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Finance Business Partner Lead, are to:
Act as a sparring partner by providing insights and challenging the organization through benchmarks, trend analysis, as well as external evaluations, and account profitability;
Co-Pilot the USS team as the key finance partner in service to customer facing teams as the Units/Squads make financial decisions as part of new P&L accountability within the new compensation structure;
Lead the design, prepare and analysis of monthly forecasting of sales and market funding compensation and deliver redesigned and enhanced reporting for finance as part of the USS and SRP Teams they serve;
Lead the Crop Protection target setting process across all strategic accounts for CP sales of $3B, working cross functionally with Product Management and Product Supply to balance growth and strategic direction;
Prepare and conduct monthly compensation discussions with Strategic Account Managers/Leads and the Area Leads;
Lead and train personnel to ensure all activities with internal and external customers meet compliance requirements while elevating the deliverables;
Conduct appropriate analysis that outlines business risks through interpretation of metrics to ensure appropriate actions / decisions are taken to positively affect results;
Provides technical accounting solutions to a wide range of difficult business problems. Solutions are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with compliance and business objectives;
Support Controllership, External Reporting, and both External and Internal Audit and other commercial finance functions through program compliance and cash management strategies;
Directs team to focus on market funding optimization and efficiency through improved Return On Investment and Cost to Serve indicators as well as streamlining of processes;
Work with the FBPL team to track market funding spend/commitments versus targets, optimize resources, and consolidate forecasts/reporting for frequent analysis and communication to management;
Set target expectations and ensure reporting and metrics are available to measure against targets while allowing strategic account leads and finance analysts to identify risks and opportunities to the plan;
Implement weekly and monthly business metrics and reporting while ensuring the USS, Strategic Accounts and Area leadership have the necessary KPI's to manage business, implement necessary contingency plans, deliver on financial targets, and key business imperatives;
Leverage both country and global platforms including SAP, data.one, Power BI and Squad P&L platforms.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting;
Knowledge of sales and marketing methodologies and promotions, industry issues that can affect sales, accounting concepts, financial statement analysis, and compliance related knowledge;
Good decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interface at senior level with internal and external stakeholders and customers;
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments;
Strong negotiating and influencing skills, plus well-developed communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills;
Fluent English skills both in the spoken and written form;
Ability to communicate with non-financial managers at all levels in an effective, knowledgeable, and persuasive manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience, or 7 years of experience with a Master's degree in financial and functional (e.g., Commercial Operations, Crop Science or Life Science).

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $104,472.00 to $156,708.00 . Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
