Industrial Market Specialist

The Impact You'll Make in this Role
You will be responsible for growing the Automotive Aftermarket Product Portfolio into adjacent markets to include general and light industrial, aerospace, specialty vehicle and other non-automotive collision related spaces
Achieves sales objectives by providing independent sales coverage of assigned accounts or within assigned territory. Position intended for individuals experienced in sales and who have demonstrated effective use of selling skills and have consistently achieved or exceeded forecast over a sustained period of time. Primarily, manages sales territory with periodic supervision and assistance. When necessary, requests or receives assistance in handling situations which require either greater or different experience or knowledge as needed.
As an Adjacent Market Sales Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Lead sales efforts across all 3M brands/products into adjacent market segments of the US Automotive Aftermarket Division
Implement sales programs, plans and policies as agreed upon with direct supervisor
Determine priorities, frequencies, and call patterns to be most effective and productive
Support St. Paul and regional programs and initiatives
Create business plans for end users and deliver solutions to everyday problems
Track all activities in 3M customer relationship management (CRM) tool.
Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution with one (1) year sales and/or Automotive Aftermarket industry experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
OR
High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) with five (5) years of Sales experience and/or Automotive Aftermarket industry experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
AND
Current, valid Driver's License
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Financial business acumen or experience selling through distribution
Technical expertise or ability to learn new products, relate and reinforce benefits
Understanding industrial markets sales cycle and various decision-making stakeholder personas
Time and territory management skills
Experience with Salesforce.com or other customer relationship management (CRM) tools
Work location:
Remote: Michigan, Ohio or Indiana is preferred residence
Sales Territory: MI, OH, IN, IL, Southern WI, Western PA, Upstate NY, WV, and Northern KY
Travel: May include up to 40% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
