Medical Receptionist

Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team in Santa Cruz, California. This position is a Contract to permanent role, offering the opportunity to transition into a long-term position based on performance. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and organized experience in a medical office environment.

Responsibilities:

Welcome patients and visitors with a friendly and detail-oriented demeanor, creating a positive first impression.

Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation.

Schedule appointments using Google Calendar and other scheduling tools, coordinating with medical staff as needed.

Answer phone calls, address inquiries, and route messages to the appropriate personnel.

Maintain the reception area and office supplies to ensure a clean and organized workspace.

Assist with basic administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.

Handle patient information with confidentiality and comply with healthcare regulations.

Communicate effectively with patients to provide clear information about appointments and office procedures.

Support the medical team with clerical tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Monitor and update patient records as required, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of clerical or healthcare administrative experience.

High school diploma or equivalent educational background.

Proficiency with Google Calendar and Microsoft Office Word.

Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a pleasant and focused manner.

Ability to work reliably and maintain punctuality.
