Core Duties could include but are not limited to:

Greeting and Seating:\ Welcoming guests as they arrive, managing the waiting list, and seating guests at appropriate tables.\ Reservation Management:\ Handling reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and potentially managing reservations through a reservation system or waitlist app.\ Communication:\ Communicating with guests about wait times, seating availability, and other inquiries. They also communicate with the serving staff regarding seating needs and other relevant information.\ Maintaining a Welcoming Atmosphere:\ Ensuring the host station is clean and organized, and that the overall atmosphere is inviting.\ Assisting with Special Requests:\ Accommodating special requests from guests, such as dietary restrictions or specific seating preferences.\ Opening and Closing Duties:\ May include setting up the host station, cleaning, and other tasks as needed.\ Additional Responsibilities:\ Answering Phones:\ .\ Answering phone calls, providing information about the restaurant, and potentially taking reservations.\ Assisting with Side Work:\ .\ Helping with tasks like setting tables, bussing tables, or refilling condiments, especially during peak hours.\ Maintaining a Clean and Organized Space:\ .\ Ensuring the host area is clean, organized, and presentable to guests.\ Handling Guest Issues:\ .\ Addressing any guest concerns or complaints in a professional and efficient manner.\ Providing Excellent Customer Service:\ .\ Striving to create a positive and memorable dining experience for each guest.
