Join a high-performing actuarial team supporting Aetna & SilverScript's Group Medicare Part D business. The primary responsibility of this role will be applying analytical skills and actuarial judgement with a focus on strategy, pricing and supporting some of our largest employer group customers and the overall Group Medicare portfolio. The colleague will collaborate with business partners to provide sound risk management advice, anticipate and recognize matters that materially affect financial results, and make sound, unbiased recommendations on these matters.
A strong candidate will:
Work effectively with other Actuarial, Underwriting, and Account teams to price and support requests from specific large employer groups, which may include analyzing data, responding to questions, as well as strategizing how to offer appropriate cost-effective solutions that meet desired outcomes.
Utilize actuarial judgement and analytic skills to value the financial impacts of a variety of risks and market changes (e.g. legislation, regulatory reform, product strategy) and educate others about the impacts. This could include meeting with clients directly.
Take full ownership of assigned projects, manage to overall deadlines and complete tasks independently while collaborating with other cross-functional business partners in Actuarial, Underwriting, Sales, Finance, Clinical, Product, and Government Affairs.
Act as a subject matter expert on assigned projects or concepts and integrate individual results with work performed by others.
Leverage strong critical thinking to anticipate and recognize matters that materially affect financial results and develop sound, unbiased recommendations on how to resolve these matters.
Have excellent verbal and written communication to effectively convey observations and recommendations to various audiences. Articulates complicated ideas to others and is comfortable interacting and crafting presentations to various audiences and levels.
Have a strong technical background, demonstrating spreadsheeting proficiency and familiarity with database and web-based applications, to be able to contribute to the improvement of existing tools and recommend new innovative solutions that allow for better analyses and greater efficiency.
Actively pursues continuous learning opportunities, participates in actuarial organizations, and contributes to the professional development of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree along with 3+ years of relevant healthcare and actuarial experience
Prior actuarial exams passed (or ASA)
Strong communication skills.
Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel skills, able to turn data into understandable and compelling exhibits/stories.
Strong analytic skills and attention to detail, including ability to manipulate and summarize data and natural curiosity to dig into the "why."
Adept at creative problem solving and decision making, using multiple data sources to assess and develop business strategies.
Self-motivated with a willingness to ask questions and take initiative.
Customer-focused mindset and willingness to address concerns of regulators and business/enterprise partners.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with constant change.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

ASA
Prior pharmacy or Medicare Part D experience
Prior health pricing experience
Experience with SQL, GCP, SAS, and/or Python

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
