Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Brooklyn, New York. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate processing and management of financial transactions. This position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and familiarity with accounts payable practices.

Responsibilities:

Process and verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring proper account coding and compliance with company policies.

Manage payments through various methods, including Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.

Reconcile accounts payable records with general ledger entries to ensure accuracy.

Maintain organized documentation of invoices and payment records for auditing purposes.

Collaborate with vendors to address payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

Generate periodic reports on accounts payable activities for management review.

Support month-end closing procedures by ensuring timely processing of all payables.

Monitor and enforce adherence to payment policies and deadlines.

Assist in the implementation and optimization of accounts payable systems and processes. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or related financial roles.

Familiarity with account coding and invoice processing.

Knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check processing.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficiency in financial software and tools used for accounts payable.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with vendors and team members.

Understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
