THE POSITION

This position requires a skilled and independent thinker to complete assignments on our facility and help us continue to facilitate psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will perform skilled plumbing work at Norristown State Hospital. Some of your duties will include maintaining kitchen equipment like dishwashers, fabricating and installing new piping systems, and repairing existing piping systems. After installing or repairing systems, you can expect to test them to ensure they are functioning properly. Your work will involve operating power tools and hand tools, setting up and operating emergency equipment, and operating automotive equipment. Independent judgment will be utilized to select materials and work methods, conduct inspections on schedule, perform maintenance and repairs as needed, and maintain updated records. This position will require you to develop and possess a thorough knowledge of the location of all machinery rooms, piping systems, pipe chases, corridors, and other locations where the services for the hospital are located. Additionally, you will need to have a working knowledge of all piping systems and understand the operation of machinery that is installed in the systems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Overtime as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
